Misc Audi A6 & A4!!

 


The Audi S4 and Audi RS4 — along with them Audi S6 and Audi RS6 bruisers — were mighty popular with bank robbers back in the ’90s an’ early 2000s, the last real stretch when hittin’ banks was still part’a organized crime mythology over here. Norway’s last truly infamous big heist was prolly the NOKAS robbery back in 2004. Sweden had itself some absolutely feral robbery waves later on in the 2000s too, though nowadays that sorta thing mostly faded away.

Now the RS4 an’ RS6? Lord have mercy, them things were straight-up wolves wearin’ station wagon clothes. Family cars on paper — pure highway demons underneath. They sat on the regular Audi A4 and Audi A6 platforms, but with enough turbocharged rage hidden inside ta embarrass half the supercars on the road.

The S4 an’ S6 weren’t quite as insane, but still mean enough ta make respectable citizens grip the dashboard. Then ya had the legendary Audi RS2 Avant built off the ol’ Audi 80, plus the iconic Audi Quattro — though honestly that one belongs more on the vintage side’a the blog. Either way, every last one’a these machines was an absolute animal.

Funny sidenote too: Thomas Rocco Hansen once got interviewed standin’ right there in front’a the rear end of his Audi A6. An’ lemme tell ya, Audi owners ain’t always choir boys neither, if y’all catchin’ mah drift.

Still, the A6, A4, RS6, RS4, RS2, S4, an’ S6 are all proper hardcore beasts. Built fer driftin’, boostin’, launchin’, snow-slingin’, an’ flyin’ sideways through Scandinavian winters like possessed German missiles.

Course, Norway’s speed limits kinda put a leash on things. On big straight four-lane highways y’all mostly get 100 or 110 km/h, which frankly ain’t enough ta fully uncork what these sports sedans really got in ’em. But out on them narrow, twisty country roads? Limits sit around 50, 60, an’ 80 anyway — which honestly works just fine, ’cause half the fun is hammerin’ between corners before the next icy bend sneaks up an’ tries ta throw ya into a pine tree.

So yeah — these things ain’t just built fer speed. They’re born fer snow driftin’, chaos, an’ Scandinavian winter warfare.

Toyota Tacoma X-Runner, Toyota FJ cruiser!

Toyota Tacoma X-Runner? Now there’s a truck with some flair! They sold ‘em in the U.S. from 2005 to 2013, in Canada from 2005 to 2014, and even out on Hawaii till 2015. Came in all kinds of cool colors—different shades of blue and red, plus two kinds of black. They only made about 3,000 of these bad boys every year, so they’re a rare find. Now, the Toyota FJ Cruiser? That one wasn’t even supposed to hit production! But after folks went wild for it at the auto show, Toyota decided to give the people what they wanted. It was made mostly for the U.S. market, though I remember seein’ a few of ‘em back home in Bærum. Some small import business must’ve brought a few over, ‘cause there wasn’t a proper dealer for ‘em. By 2014, Toyota started talkin’ about axin’ the FJ Cruiser, but it’s still rollin’ in the Middle East. Those newer versions are upgraded from the originals and mighty hard to come by. TVR Streetcars, around 1950s -

These badass and purebred special British sports cars are made by the British company TVR , since the late '50s. Even though they're darn cool and very special, only a few thousand of them have been produced in different models. Some models have only seen a single or double-digit number of cars produced - quite a shame considering how super cool and unique these cars are. Around 1980, TVR supposedly pulled off a stunt during the unveiling of new cars, where they simply used naked ladies as promotional babes! By the way, one of TVR's cars is said to have been banned in the USA due to some special and very strict safety regulations that it didn't quite meet. Too bad, America! TVR cars are awesome, and here I've captured a bunch of the coolest ones TVR has to offer.

Volvo S40 and Volvo S60!

  Now the Volvo Cars S40 and S60 have mostly carried that clean cut Scandinavian Sunday school look. Safe, sensible, parked nice and straight in the driveway. Not exactly the kinda rigs that make you spill your coffee starin at em. But here is the part folks tend to forget. Them Swedes have been throwin these sedans into racing for years. Touring car grids full of boxy little Volvos leanin hard into corners like they got somethin to prove. And that S40 even had a rowdy cousin back in the day called the Evolve version, which was about as subtle as a thunderclap in a tin barn. Now here is where it gets fun. You take an S60 or an S40 and quit treatin it like a commuter appliance. Bolt on some gullwing doors just to mess with peoples heads. Throw on some proper side skirts, lower it till it hugs the asphalt tighter than a tick on a hound dog, and suddenly that plain Jane grocery getter starts lookin like it runs the block.
