Fiat 124 Spider 2012- Lancia Delta and Fiat 127 Concept 2015-



Fiat 124 Spider, a true icon in the USA, and Fiat making headlines by recently acquiring Chrysler Motors. Beyond that, Fiat played a pivotal role in kickstarting the Russian automotive industry around 1970 with licenses for the original Fiat 124, famously known as the Fiat 124 Familiare.

While the Russian Fiat family car might not have been as sturdy as the original Italian Fiat, the Fiat 124 Spider is a whole different story. You can pimp it out into something seriously cool, and it even comes in an open-top version. Oddly enough, there aren't many of these gems in Norway, and it's a shame because I'd love to see more of them on the roads. Time to bring some Italian flair to the Norwegian streets!



Lancia Delta Concept and Fiat 127 Concept 2015 are some pretty dang cool street cars. It's a real shame that the Lancia Delta Concept and Fiat 127 never made it past the concept stage. Feel free to check out my posts on my gearhead blog about old Russian Fiats here and the Lancia Delta here.

(Here's a prototype from around 2020 of the old-school Beetle.) Volkswagen Beetle is often considered the first truly modern car. Hitler wanted a people's car, and he preferred it to be round and streamlined. The choice landed on Ferdinand Porsche's project, the Beetle. Fiat Strada Renault Express/Renault Kangoo Volkswagen Caddy

Fiat Strada. This here rig comes in two flavors: the older models are tiny lil' pickups — real small, but scrappy. The newer ones, up to about five years old, are more like big ol' Isuzu Troopers or Toyota Hilux trucks — real workhorses, built tough for the long haul. You can trick these babies out real nice, slap on some chrome, lift the suspension, add a light bar — make ’em look mean and mighty fine. And get this: 'bout ten years back, Fiat went and bought out the whole dang Chrysler group. Yup, the whole enchilada. These days, a lotta their rides look a whole lot like Chryslers and Dodges. Lada 1500 concept and Lada 1500 3G and 4G street cars

Below, you’ll find a picture of the Lada 1500 concept along with a sporty version of the Lada 1500 above. Unfortunately, the concept car never made it into production. The Lada 1500 3G and 4G are more akin to classic cars than true modern street cars, as they are built on a Fiat model from the 1960s. Lada launched its last versions of these models in 1979 and 1982. By that time, Lada had already produced two versions of the Fiat 1500, based on models from the 1950s and 60s, earlier in the 1970s. There’s a saying that Russians and people from former Soviet states often use: 'A Lada, it has a Porsche engine!'
