Don't let yer street ride get scrapped 'cause of rough times

Well, as y'all probably know, things have gotten downright expensive these days after the pandemic, ongoing climate crisis – with the UN and nations tryin' to figure it out – plus the war in Ukraine, the Middle East, and the crazy inflation that's now unavoidable. Here in Norway, we're dealin' with a 6-7 percent inflation, which is just about half of what we faced in the late '80s and early '90s when inflation and interest rates were around 14 percent, if not more. Now, we're kinda lucky in Norway; take a gander at Argentina – they're grappling with a whopping 160 percent inflation. Lookin' at all this, drivin' around in them gas guzzlers I'm talkin' 'bout ain't sustainable or economical no more.

Gas and diesel prices, especially them gas prices, are sky high. Electric cars are actually cheaper, even with electricity prices being what they are. The smart move? Either park your ride or convert it to zero emissions.

Lately, it's been a real bummer for me seein' cars just sittin' around on sale sites like Finn without findin' an owner 'cause folks ain't brave enough to splash the cash in these tough times. The worst part? Them cars might end up gettin' scrapped or shipped off to Africa, takin' a real beatin'. I had this happen recently with a 1980s Toyota Hiace van, a groovy camper, kinda like a Volkswagen Samba bus I talked about before. This camper had some darn cool vintage travel stickers that I'm afraid are already wrecked by all the mud and desert dust down there in Africa, where it's probably seein' its last days. So, don't let your car get junked or run into the ground in Africa just 'cause times are tough – either make it emissions-free or let it sit till the right time comes.
