Mitshubishi Starion , Toyota Supra, Porsche 928, 924 and 944!






These cars were among the first street rides with truly modern design, hitting the scene already in the late 1970s. The Porsche 928 (1978-1995) was pretty slick, I reckon, as I often spotted them in Drammen and Oslo in Norway in the 1990s. On the other hand, the Porsche 924 (1976-1988) and 944 (1982-1991) were more standard Porsches, sporting a somewhat duller design, even though they still carried a more 90s vibe than 80s. These were considered more everyday Porsches and came at a much more reasonable price.



Mitsubishi Starion (1982-1989) had a dude down the road from me over 10 years ago. I dig it because of its classic and modern '70s design.

Toyota Supra made its debut in 1978 with a modern design. The latest model was featured in the first Fast and Furious movie, and a customized version of the car Paul Walker drove in the film was turned into a powerful street version that became legendary after his death towards the end of 2013

Fiat Strada Renault Express/Renault Kangoo Volkswagen Caddy

Fiat Strada. This here rig comes in two flavors: the older models are tiny lil' pickups — real small, but scrappy. The newer ones, up to about five years old, are more like big ol' Isuzu Troopers or Toyota Hilux trucks — real workhorses, built tough for the long haul. You can trick these babies out real nice, slap on some chrome, lift the suspension, add a light bar — make ’em look mean and mighty fine. And get this: 'bout ten years back, Fiat went and bought out the whole dang Chrysler group. Yup, the whole enchilada. These days, a lotta their rides look a whole lot like Chryslers and Dodges. Lada 1500 concept and Lada 1500 3G and 4G street cars

Below, you’ll find a picture of the Lada 1500 concept along with a sporty version of the Lada 1500 above. Unfortunately, the concept car never made it into production. The Lada 1500 3G and 4G are more akin to classic cars than true modern street cars, as they are built on a Fiat model from the 1960s. Lada launched its last versions of these models in 1979 and 1982. By that time, Lada had already produced two versions of the Fiat 1500, based on models from the 1950s and 60s, earlier in the 1970s.
