THOR 24, y'all! SSC THRUST and Shockwave, the baddest jet truck out there!

In a previous post I wrote on my car enthusiast blog (which you can read here), I talked about steam locomotives. I wrote that post with climate change and the challenges we're facing in mind. Imagine a magnificent and stylish steam locomotive, emitting that true Texian charm. However, nowadays, hardly anyone uses steam locomotives. They're mainly preserved in museums and used on heritage railways in most countries. So, even though I'm crazy about cool cars with powerful engines, I hope that this blog will serve as a reference to badass fossil-fueled cars from the past in a few years. Maybe someday in the future, I'll create a new blog about electric super sports cars!

And speaking of that:

Peterbilt THOR 24, this is one wickedly insane semi truck built on Peterbilt's model 359. It's equipped with two massive V12 engines, each with a whopping 28-liter capacity, a total of 12 turbos, and eight nitrogen tanks. Despite its massive engine dimensions, it can only reach a top speed of 208 kilometers per hour, which seems strange considering it's not hauling a trailer. I've seen numerous YouTube videos of enormous American monster trucks loaded with timber or planks, blasting off in drag races with exhaust spewing out the back, and the entire cabin and front end lifting in a wild manner in sync with the acceleration. With that, I would have expected speeds of 300-400 kilometers per hour. For now, the SSC Tuatara can reach speeds of 530 kilometers per hour, and the world's fastest jet-powered vehicle achieved speeds close to Mach 1 over 25 years ago. But those were diesel engines, so maybe it's still quite impressive.

That being said, I also believe that with the current and future advancements in electric propulsion technology, we may achieve even greater milestones with future vehicles. When the SSC Thrust set the world record, I was just 10 years old, and I already had some understanding of what such extreme speeds entailed. Driving a vehicle over Mach 1 is absolutely mind-blowing, almost madness!

Now let's talk about The Shockwave Jet Truck. This jet truck may not be able to tow a trailer, but it can reach an incredible speed of 376 miles per hour or 601.6 kilometers per hour. That's a whole 70 kilometers per hour faster than the super sports car SSC Tuatara, which I recently mentioned in a previous post.
