Subaru Legacy from ’89 all the way up to today!
The Subaru Legacy, they made versions before ’89, but I’m mostly talkin’ about the ones that came after ’89, the ones that actually carried the Legacy name. Those cars were, and still are, real popular over in the States. Subaru in general’s one of the few foreign brands Americans love right alongside their homegrown rides from GM, Ford, and the Jeep-Chrysler crowd. Now, that first-generation Subaru Legacy — I remember my big brother gettin’ picked up in one after he wiped out on his bike. I was about three years old, sittin’ on the luggage rack on Dad’s bike at the time. That Legacy felt mighty modern back then, and for years afterward I kept rememberin’ the whole thing like the car was brand-new even when I was about ten or twelve. Funny how memory plays tricks. My poor brother scraped himself up pretty good — even today his skin’s a little thinner in the face — but luckily we knew some folks livin’ close by who patched him up while we caught our breath.
